ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Rising Tide Capital (www.RisingTideCapital.org) is an innovative non-profit organization whose mission is to transform lives and communities through entrepreneurship.  Headquartered in Jersey City with a satellite office in Newark, RTC is looking for an energetic individual with a talent for narrative composition, strategic analysis, and data management to join its team of dedicated professionals and help make a positive difference in the world.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Grants Coordinator serves as primary report writer and performs high-level administrative duties related to fundraising and grants management, supporting activities and strategic operations designed to increase the institutional capacity of Rising Tide Capital.  They are actively involved with stewardship activities related to pre-and post-award grants management and donor relationships, data management, proposal tracking, program evaluation, grants development and reporting, and working with a team to create and implement fundraising, development and donor communications strategies that increase the financial resilience and sustainability of the organization. As a member of both RTC’s Advancement and Innovation & Analytics departments, the Grants Coordinator also supports the research, design, development and management of innovation projects and strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grants Reporting and Evaluation (65%)

Completion of interim and annual reports on grant progress and outcomes
Preparation of materials such as narratives describing project activities, concept papers, detailed expenditure reports, thank you letters, email correspondence, client testimonials and anecdotal information, etc.
Provide high-level administrative support in the maintenance and organization of donor and funding agency records, grant proposals and reports, contracts, calendars and timelines.
Record and track institutional grant awards, donations and contracts on an ongoing basis in RTC’s customized Salesforce database
Coordinate stewardship activities to ensure accurate records and timely communication with funders; work to improve the organization and flow of grants-related research, information and tasks
Analyze program deliverables and organizational performance as it relates to grant proposals and reports
Support information sharing and coordination amongst internal departments, especially Advancement, Innovation & Analytics, and Programs.

Grants Development (25%)

Read Request for Proposal (RFP) guidelines and prepare components of grant applications: proposal narrative drafts, budgets, supporting documents, reports, specific inquiries, etc.
Conduct prospect research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities for funding and community partnerships
Collect and synthesize information about Rising Tide Capital programs as needed to make strongest case for support
Assist with the creation and implementation of fundraising plans that incorporate a range of strategies including annual appeals, major donors, grants, corporate and individual appeals

Innovation Projects (10%)

Support the Director of Grants and the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer in the research, analysis, design, and development of innovation projects and strategic initiatves

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree with 2 to 5 years of experience working in a non-profit, educational or other field that incorporates development/advancement functions
Proficient in Word, Excel and Adobe; familiar with Salesforce or similar CRM software
Superior organizational, multitasking and time management skills
Excellent grammar and written communication skills
Ability to write clear, persuasive proposal narratives and reports
Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently and wear many hats in a team environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Professional and diplomatic demeanor
