Reports to the Finance Director
Level: Manager
Type: Full-time, salary-exempt

The Accountant will be responsible for key weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities. These activities will include processing and properly coding all accounting transactions, reconciling financial statements and accounts, vendor onboarding, and ensuring data accuracy. The Accountant will also track all technology assets, work on compliance projects, and partner with Human Resources with onboarding and offboarding of employees.



  • Accounts Payable: Input and pay invoices, receipts, and reimbursements – reconcile vendor statements and vendors management
  • Grant/Accounts Receivable: Assist with invoice preparation, onboard clients, and track monies owed and other receivables
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile financial statements and accounts, and ensure data accuracy
  • Interact with clients and vendors regarding payments and documentation
  • Review financial records, processes, and accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Reconcile bank accounts by compiling, organizing, and balancing financial information
  • Correct coding errors and posts journal entry adjustments
  • Prepare fixed asset depreciation and accruals
  • Update and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Identify pain points in accounting processes and develop solutions to solve them
  • Be a driving force for quality and transparency within the accounting team and the organization overall
  • Partner with Director of Grants and Director of Finance to ensure accurate and adequate paper and electronic document retention
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs
  • Oversee invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process
  • Oversee if the grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization
  • Own vendor relationships aligned office upkeep and maintenance
  • Support maintenance of team roster, floor plan, internal phone list
  • Supply ordering
  • Other duties as assigned


  • At least 3-4 years of non-profit experience in accounting, grants reporting, bookkeeping or related fields
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • FundEz experience required
  • Must maintain a high degree of integrity, ethics, and professionalism
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to monitor multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently and collaboratively to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
