The Start Something Challenge Takes Off

Rising Tide Capital has been the local host of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Jersey City for the past four years. In 2011, we expanded our GEW celebration to include Essex County under the theme of Start Something NJ- a challenge to New Jersey's residents to support entrepreneurship as a vehicle for promoting economic growth at a critical time.

This year, instead of one week, Rising Tide Capital will launch a series of programs, beginning on May 31st, to support its largest celebration of entrepreneurship to date—a statewide business pitch competition.

In 2012, Rising Tide Capital will host The Start Something Challenge: a challenge to NJ entrepreneurs to actualize their business initiatives. The Challenge will include a video competition in ten different sectors ranging from food to healthcare.

To prepare entrepreneurs for the Challenge, Rising Tide Capital will host a series of Start Something events throughout the summer focusing on perfecting entrepreneurs' business plans and pitches. The challenge will culminate with the 2012 Start Something Challenge Champions Gala in December, where challenge finalists will be announced and celebrated.
